The Northside Festival schedule has new additions to their lineup including Asobi Seksu, Oh Land, Wise Blood, MINKS, The Miracles Club, Yellow Ostrich, The Stuyvesants, along with hundreds more.
Starting next week over 250 bands will play the four days at more than 25 venues scattered throughout the neighborhood, including the return of live music to McCarren Park, with Beirut and Guided By Voices set to headline. Beirut's McCarren show on Friday, June 17 is sold out, but tickets are still available to Guided By Voices on Saturday, June 18th, with support from WAVVES , Surfer Blood and The Babies . | |
SiriusXMU , North America's indie rock channel, will be LIVE broadcasting the Guided By Voices and Surfer Blood performances on June 18, plus band interviews straight from The Steve Madden Stage at McCarren Park.
Created by The L Magazine, The Northside Festival, June 16-19, is a four-day celebration of Brooklyn and what’s next in Music, Art, Film and Ideas. | Conditions, a band hailing from Richmond, VA, has announced its new tour run alongside Anarbor and Valencia starting June 15 and ending on August 14.
In addition to this tour, Conditions will be touring in the "There For Tomorrow Tour" in support for the band There For Tomorrow with other bands such as Oceana, and Life On Repeat starting next week.

| Basement has announced a tour in support of label mates, Title Fight, in July . Starting July 6, their UK tour will kick off with their new album, I Wish I Could Stay Here, under Run For Cover Records. On the off days of the tour, the band will play in their hometown of Ipswich, UK and a show in Norwich, UK alongside Polar Bear Club and Man Overboard.
The band has also just launched a brand new website, IWishICouldStayHere.com so check it out for more tour dates.

Andrew "Koji" Shiraki is starting up "The Amplify Peace Tour" once again in hope to help communities in central Africa that have been affected by a vicious group of children soldiers. Koji hopes that through this tour he can bring peace to tormented African nations. The Amplified Peace Tour is collaborating with The Voice Project and Colormake to bring the young soldiers peacefully home.
Koji hails from Harrisburg, P.A. and is touring in support of his new 12" vinyl, shared with La Dispute, of "Never Come Undone." He is also supporting his new EP, "Paper Window."

Toronto's NXNE festival announced today that Brit alt-rock icons Swervedriver will perform Friday, June 17 at The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West) at midnight as an NXNE Presents show, a bonus to the NXNE current Music Line-up.
Growing every year in size and stature, the NXNE2011 music, film, and interactive festival will present more than 650 artists at 50 venues during this years event, along with 40 Films and 75 Interactive Conference Sessions over 7 Days.

| The 7th Annual Afro-punk Festival returns to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park on August 27-28 with a line up that includes Cee-Lo Green, Santigold, Janelle Monae, Fishbone, Jay Electronica, Toro Y Moi, Toshi Reagon, Ninjasonik, Cerebral Ballzy, Gordon Voidwell, Reggie Watts, Res, Joi, Rocky Business, Straight Line Stitch and more.
Over the past seven years Brooklyn's Afro-punk Festival has become an institution and focal point for the burgeoning Afro-punk movement, presenting new artists before they hit it big such as Grammy-nominated Santigold, The Noisettes and Janelle Monae. Afro-punk mainstays like Saul Williams, The Dirtbombs, and Dallas Austin have also graced Afro-punk's stages.

| Providence, R.I.'s A Faylene Sky and Sleep City kick off their "The Jedi Mastour" June 3rd in Riverview, MI. and travel through the Midwest and East Coast of the United States before ending June 18th in West Babylon, NY.
A Faylene Sky is a sextet from Providence, Rhode Island that has released two EPs, 2007s "The Hero Vs. Us" and 2009s "Define Alive".
Sleep City is a post-hardcore sextet from Providence, Rhode Island that released their debut EP, entitled "Still Breathing", on February 8th, 2011 on InVogue Records.

| Les Claypool, Larry LaLonde, and Jay Lane have fired up the race car once again and have set the bay area band Primus down the track with both a U.S. and European tour that started in Indianapolis last Thursday and ends with a sold out show in London in July. We plan on being at their stop at Stubb's BarBQ in Austin on Tuesday.
Primus has been in the studio with a new release scheduled to come out soon and according to Claypool "Every song is pretty much a variation of "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult".

| The 2011 Austin City Limits Music Festival released it's full list of performers Sunday night, and announced the first single day tickets which started selling Tuesday. The 3 day event in Austin's Zilker Park brings headliners Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, and Cold Play along with Randy Newman, Social Distortion, Iron & Wine and many many more to Austin for what is sure to be a sold out event. Tickets are already selling quickly, though they tend to release a few more as the event gets closer. Rumor has Kanye West performing at ACL Live for either a pre-or after-show event.

| London based power metal band DragonForce will return to the US after a two-year absence to perform a special, one-off intimate show to give fans and media a unique opportunity to preview their new singer Marc Hudson who replaced vocalist ZP Thear, as well as to hear brand new songs from their forthcoming album. The one-time-only event will occur before the band moves to the big stage with full production for their world tour, scheduled to launch in early 2012.
This will be the only show in western North America this year and tickets for the event will be strictly limited to two per person; tickets are on sale now for the show, which will take place at LA’s famed The Troubadour on October 18th. |

| Indianapolis, Indiana prog-metal band The Contortionist have just added brand new tour dates with Veil of Maya to their summer touring schedule. The short run will take the guys through Illinois and Indiana on four dates in June. Later the band is scheduled to confirm several new tour dates, including stops on the rumored Slaughter Survivors Tour with Conducting From The Grave.
Touring to support last summers debut full-length, Exoplanet, their infectious progressive sounds have brought comparisons to bands such as such as Meshuggah, The Acacia Strain, and Between the Buried and Me.

| The third annual B.O.M.B. Fest has announced it's full line up and two-day schedule for the Memorial Day Weekend event Saturday May 28th and Sunday May 29th at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT. With a killer lineup of acts from across the country, including Weezer, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Coheed And Cambria, Neon Trees, State Radio, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, The New Pornographers, Against Me!, HEALTH, Wavves and more, this years festival has a solid lineup sure to draw fans.
A non-profit event all proceeds from this year’s festival will got towards providing music scholarships, music enrichment and education programs, music and healing initiatives and community support and outreach. Last year's festival raised money for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, Connecticut Children's Hospital, YPI Camp, and The Lyman Allyn Museum.
