Brendon Urie , singer for the band Panic! At The Disco snapped his ankle during a concert in Florida this weekend.
Though his ankle swelled to the size of a softball he managed to get through the show and it doesn't look like it has impacted the bands current U.S. tour, scheduled to wind up June 29 in Omaha.
Toronto's NXNE festival announced today that Brit alt-rock icons Swervedriver will perform Friday, June 17 at The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West) at midnight as an NXNE Presents show, a bonus to the NXNE current Music Line-up.
Growing every year in size and stature, the NXNE2011 music, film, and interactive festival will present more than 650 artists at 50 venues during this years event, along with 40 Films and 75 Interactive Conference Sessions over 7 Days.

The 7th Annual Afro-punk Festival returns to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park on August 27-28 with a line up that includes Cee-Lo Green, Santigold, Janelle Monae, Fishbone, Jay Electronica, Toro Y Moi, Toshi Reagon, Ninjasonik, Cerebral Ballzy, Gordon Voidwell, Reggie Watts, Res, Joi, Rocky Business, Straight Line Stitch and more.
Over the past seven years Brooklyn's Afro-punk Festival has become an institution and focal point for the burgeoning Afro-punk movement, presenting new artists before they hit it big such as Grammy-nominated Santigold, The Noisettes and Janelle Monae. Afro-punk mainstays like Saul Williams, The Dirtbombs, and Dallas Austin have also graced Afro-punk's stages.

Hollywood gossip site TMZ is reporting that George Clinton the legendary Parliament-Funkadelic founder and frontman, has been hospitalized overnight for a serious staph infection in his leg, discovered during a routine doctors visit.
There has been no word on if or how this impacts the bands current touring schedule or it's scheduled date at Saturdays B.O.M.B. Festival in Hartford Connecticut at the Comcast Theater.

Houston (and sometimes Austin) based Blue October has announced the release of their seventh full-length studio album, Any Man In America, which will be available on August 16, 2011. The album's thirteen new songs "tell a cathartic tale of heartbreak and healing through unbridled lyrical honesty, anthemic modern rock hooks, and melodic soundscapes."
The first single off of the album, "The Chills," will be available for digital download May 31st.

Japan's Ice Grills Records is releasing a compilation encompassing the Wallingford, CT based Hostage Calm's entire catalog on August 10.
The release titled All of Hostage Calm will be available exclusively in Japan and documents their progression from their melodic hardcore punk roots, to their power-pop.
The discography includes their current Self-Titled LP, plus their "Run for Cover" Single 7-inch, the Lens LP and their demo.

Providence, R.I.'s A Faylene Sky and Sleep City kick off their "The Jedi Mastour" June 3rd in Riverview, MI. and travel through the Midwest and East Coast of the United States before ending June 18th in West Babylon, NY.
A Faylene Sky is a sextet from Providence, Rhode Island that has released two EPs, 2007s "The Hero Vs. Us" and 2009s "Define Alive".
Sleep City is a post-hardcore sextet from Providence, Rhode Island that released their debut EP, entitled "Still Breathing", on February 8th, 2011 on InVogue Records.

Primus is back and in fine form with one of their early drummers and "gasp" new songs.
Though frontman Les Claypool threatened that the new works would be heavily influenced by BOC's "Don't Fear The Reaper", nary a cowbell was to be heard Tuesday at their way sold out show at Stubb's, if you could get in. Even the scalpers were out of tickets for this one.
Primus first full release since 1999, tentatively titled Green Naugahyde, was slated to be out by now in time for the U.S. tour but has since been pushed back til July.
Fans anxious to hear the new songs as well as classic Primus tunes showed up early and the line to get in wrapped around the end of the building by the time gates opened.
Packed like sardines, the heat and humidity was almost too much for the audience, but they were a Primus crowd and long before the band appeared the traditional mantra "Primus Sucks" was ringing in my ears, drowning out the inevitable cartoon soundtrack playing over the P.A....
Sweden's progressive metal mavens Opeth will release Heritage, their third album for Roadrunner, on September 20th. The first single and video will be the song "The Devil’s Orchard."
The album was produced by Opeth's frontman and guitarist Mikael Ã…kerfeldt and mixed along with Porcupine Tree frontman/guitarist Steven Wilson, who is a labelmate of Opeth.

Thrash metal band Indestructible Noise Command and Candlelight Records have partnered to distribute the band’s upcoming full-length release, Heaven Sent…Hellbound, on it’s new release date, August 9th, 2011. The album is being released on Rising Records, and is the band’s first full-length offering in over 20 years.
Additionally the band just wrapped shooting two new music videos for the singles "Fist of Fascista" and "Swallowed" a few weeks ago in Brooklyn, New York.

Los Angeles based indie rock favorites Airborne Toxic Event played to a full house at Austin's La Zona Rosa last night, as a pre pre-cursor to their set at this fall's ACL Fest.
Supporting their second release All at Once which hit stores in April, the band has a full summer tour schedule.
Les Claypool, Larry LaLonde, and Jay Lane have fired up the race car once again and have set the bay area band Primus down the track with both a U.S. and European tour that started in Indianapolis last Thursday and ends with a sold out show in London in July. We plan on being at their stop at Stubb's BarBQ in Austin on Tuesday.
Primus has been in the studio with a new release scheduled to come out soon and according to Claypool "Every song is pretty much a variation of "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult".

The 2011 Austin City Limits Music Festival released it's full list of performers Sunday night, and announced the first single day tickets which started selling Tuesday. The 3 day event in Austin's Zilker Park brings headliners Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, and Cold Play along with Randy Newman, Social Distortion, Iron & Wine and many many more to Austin for what is sure to be a sold out event. Tickets are already selling quickly, though they tend to release a few more as the event gets closer. Rumor has Kanye West performing at ACL Live for either a pre-or after-show event.
