While many fans and bands made the trek to Austin for SXSW a good number also came for other music events in the area. Once of those events, the Texas Rockfest, was held in a couple parking lots on 7th street and several bars on 6th street, and drew their own crowds to check out bands from all over the U.S.. Hard rock, metal, punk, dub, emo, country, americana and idie bands all found a place to play and a willing crowd to play in front of.
Even though I was tasked to do SXSW photos I found it hard not to slip over and shoot a few of the Rockfest acts. Click on a photo below to check out a bands pics.
Well the crowds are gone, the bands are gone, the garbage has been picked up and Austin ihas been left wth the memories of another successful SXSW. While I didn't get to update the site as quickly as I had hoped, I did manage to take photos of around 50 acts, including headliners Devo an Third Eye Blind.
Sadly I couldn't get one of the "special" photo passes to Metallica, nor did I get invited to shoot Jane's Addiction at the Playboy Party but I did get to see and shoot some great bands. Click on an image below to check out a bands pics from this years SXSW.

I seemed like the Indigo Girls were everywhere at SXSW this year, even popping up to perfrom at the Perez Hilton party. I caught their set later over at Stubb's and thought they were great. They sounded just like their records. It was just them on a bare stage. Click here to check out the rest of the Indigo Girls pics. photos by Jeff Barringer - Staff Photographer
Electro-Punk Pioneers DEVO headlined the BMI Showcase at the Austin Music Hall during this years SXSW and they brought their whole stage setup. Even the plastic flowerpot hats. Being at this show you felt like you were immersed in one of those 80's videos, part of some way cool 3D mashup. Canadian Music Week is a music festival, conference, and exhibition with thousands of music industry participants from around the world. 350 bands in 35 clubs over three nights, March 11 through the 14th, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Club kingsnake was there this year and we put together this photo gallery with some of the highlights. Click on an artist to see more! - photos by Michael Hurcomb - Staff Photographer
No, it wasn't Killer Clowns From Outer Space that invaded the Freeman Coliseum, just the boys from Des Moines, Slipknot, who took no prisoners during their set in San Antonio on Sunday. While our writer Harrison enjoyed the show from a comfortable and relatively safe seat in the arena, I was braving the moshers coming over the barrier into the photo pit. Watch for Harrison's review later this week, but check out some pics from the war zone until then. Click here to check out the rest of the pics. photos by Jeff Barringer - Staff Photographer
L.A. based Irish American Celtic punk band Flogging Molly made their annual tour stop at Stubb's on Saturday to close out February and Club Kingsnake was there! Watch for a full review of the show later this week, but until then check out these cool pics Jamie shot. Click here to check out the rest of the pics. photos by Jaime Butler - Staff Photographer
